Witton Barracks, the heritage-listed World War II site located on the banks of the Brisbane River in Indooroopilly, has opened its doors after 13 years, reimagined as a community and social enterprise hub.

Designed to preserve the past while nurturing new ideas that will shape our future, Witton Barracks will be a space dedicated to creativity, employment creation and community connection.

 A sneak peek.

We’re busy behind the scenes getting the site ready. For now, here is a little of what you can expect.

  • Historic WWII cell blocks restored into intimate office and creation spaces available for short and long-term rental. Maintaining their heritage, these are perfect for social enterprise start-ups, small businesses or creatives who need an independent studio or workspace.
  • Co-working spaces with opportunities to connect and collaborate with others.
  • Newly renovated larger spaces available for hire for events, special occasions, community club meetings, team building days, or wellness sessions. Download venue hire pack for more information and book directly via our online portal
  • Community events, workshops and activities from mid-2024 onwards.
  • Historic tours providing insights into the origin of the site and the last remaining World War II Prisoner of War cells in Australia.
