History Talk: Uncovering the secrets of Witton Barracks

Have you ever wondered why it’s called Witton Barracks? Or if the site has always been in public ownership? Or what went on during the 1939-45 War that warranted the high fences and ‘need to know’ secrecy?
Join us for a free history talk on 12 July to uncover the answers to these questions and more.
Our presenter Andrew Darbyshire is a volunteer at the Brisbane History Group Research Library which has recently been relocated to the Barracks.
The talk will last around an hour and will be followed by a tour of the historic brick cells.
Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
