Full Moon Sacred Circle BONE MOTHER & Shamanic Drumming Journey with SUN SISTA

Full Moon Medicine Drumming Circle

BONE MOTHER

We gather as the divine feminine and masculine energies, in a safe, open, and deeply held space. This is a sacred circle where real conversation happens. Where the masks come off and the performance stops.

This is a calling to grieve out loud, in company, instead of alone. Under the Sturgeon Moon we turn toward what has been lost. People, versions of ourselves, chapters, relationships, futures we thought we’d have. We will be having a discussion on grief and what it means to actually let it move through the body instead of pushing it down and carrying on. What have you never properly grieved? Who or what are you still holding, quietly, that needs to be honoured?

We open seated together in circle with ceremonial tea. It warms the blood and steadies the body, holding us as we speak what is often left unspoken. We will sit with it and name what we are here to honour.

As the circle opens fully, we rise into shamanic drumming, a call and response journey held by shamanic medicine drums, rattles, and voice. This is grief work in motion. There is nothing to get right and nothing that needs to look a certain way. The drum has been used for thousands of years across cultures as a way to mourn, to honour ancestors, to move sorrow through the body when words run out.

Drumming works on a level words can’t reach. A sustained rhythmic beat entrains the brain toward theta states, the same threshold state found in trance and deep meditation, where grief that has been frozen in the body finally has permission to move. Research on rhythmic drumming points to real drops in cortisol and real shifts toward parasympathetic calm, but the medicine of it isn’t just physiological. It’s ancestral. Across every culture on earth, the drum has been the way humans have mourned together rather than alone.

When the drumbeat meets the emotional openness of the circle, the body often releases what it has been carrying far longer than we realise. People describe tears, trembling, stillness, sounds they didn’t know they had in them, or a quiet peace that comes only after something has finally been let out. Whatever comes up is welcome. It is all part of the honouring.

Please bring a yoga mat or something to sit on, a journal and pen, water, and wear clothing you can move freely in. If you feel called, bring a photo, an object, or something that represents who or what you are honouring. We’ll have a moment in the circle to acknowledge it.

This circle is open to all. Wherever you are on the path, whoever you carry with you, you are welcome here exactly as you are.

With love,
