In the rush of modern urban life, our nervous systems are constantly activated, screens, noise, deadlines, and the endless scroll of daily demands. We are a generation running on empty, craving deep rest but rarely finding it. This Sound Bath Journey is your invitation to pause, breathe, and come home to yourself.

Whether you are new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, this experience is designed for everyone, including those with the busiest of minds. Unlike traditional meditation, you don’t need to “empty your thoughts” or sit in silence. Instead, your awareness is gently drawn toward the living sound as it washes over and through you, doing the work so you don’t have to.


What Is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is an immersive, meditative experience where you are bathed in waves of healing sound and vibration. You simply lie down (or sit comfortably), close your eyes, and allow the sounds to guide you into a state of profound relaxation.

The instruments used in this journey include:

  • High Frequency Crystal Singing Bowls — tuned to specific frequencies that resonate with the body’s energy centres. Seven bowls that balance the seven chakras in the energy system.
  • Medicine Drums — deep, rhythmic pulses that slow the mind and anchor the body
  • Rain Stick — soft, flowing sounds that ease the nervous system into stillness
  • Chimes — delicate, shimmering tones that lift and refresh the mind
  • Tibetan Bells — ancient tools for grounding and energetic clearing

Together, these instruments create a rich, layered soundscape that guides you gently from an active, thinking state into deep rest and restoration.


The Science Behind Sound Healing

Sound baths are not just a beautiful experience, there is growing scientific evidence supporting their powerful effects on the mind and body.

Brainwave Entrainment: Sound frequencies can guide the brain from its busy Beta state (active thinking) into Alpha (relaxed awareness), Theta (deep meditation and creativity) and even Delta (restorative sleep-like rest). This process is known as brainwave entrainment, and it is one reason people often feel profoundly relaxed and even drift to sleep during a sound bath.

Stress Reduction: Research published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine found that sound meditation significantly reduced feelings of tension, anxiety and depression, while increasing feelings of spiritual wellbeing. Participants reported lower levels of physical pain and emotional distress following sessions.

The Vagus Nerve & Nervous System Reset: Sound vibration stimulates the vagus nerve, a key pathway in the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to shift the body out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and digest.” This is where true healing happens.

Cellular Vibration: The human body is approximately 60% to 70% water, and water is highly responsive to vibration. The resonance of crystal singing bowls creates physical vibration that moves through the body at a cellular level, promoting physical relaxation and energetic balance.

This event is hosted at Witton Barracks, a beautiful and unique event space and social enterprise hub committed to giving back to the local community. It is a space with heart and the perfect setting for an lunch time reset of rest, connection and restoration.
