Public Telescope Night

Brisbane Astronomical Society is conducting a public telescope evening in the courtyard at Witton Barracks.

Telescopes will be available for the public to view the moon, star clusters and various astronomical objects such as nebulae and galaxies.

This is a family event and may inspire young minds to imagine and explore astronomy and space.

Plus, we'll be serving hot chocolate to keep you warm!

Telescopes will be operational from a little after sunset through to about 8pm.

But please be aware that public telescope evenings are dependent upon weather conditions. If the clouds are rolling in these events may be cancelled on the day.

Weather and event status updates will be posted in the Brisbane Astronomical Society Facebook page:

The telescopes will be set up in the courtyard between the hub buildings. To arrive, walk through the park and up the driveway between the buildings.

The event is free, but if you would like to make a gold-coin donation to Brisbane Astronomical Society, it will be gratefully accepted.
